Agriculture is one of the most critical industries in Montana, supporting rural communities across the state. Montana is home to nearly 28,000 farms and ranches.
Since Steve took office, the state has invested $15 million in research on technology to improve crop yields and soil health. He is committed to advancing agriculture. Through his public-private Main Street Montana Project, Steve will continue to focus on attracting a mid-sized meat processing facility, more product marketing and working on fixing water and transportation issues.
Steve led several trade missions to many of Montana’s top trading partners including China, Taiwan, South Korea, and Canada that have resulted in direct investment and trade deals for Montana businesses. These trade missions strengthened Montana’s relationships abroad and expanded opportunities for business, education, and cultural exchange.
