Steve Bullock understands that a healthy workforce is a strong workforce.
As Governor, Steve made investments in Montana’s health care system and community mental health care, expanding crisis intervention efforts and treatment.
Last year, he worked with both Democrats and Republicans in the legislature to pass the bipartisan HELP Act that expanded access to health care for up to 70,000 more Montanans. As a result over the past year, the number of medically uninsured has dropped from 15 percent to 7.4 percent.
A firm believer in safeguarding Montanans’ taxpayer dollars and cutting health care costs, Steve adopted transparent pricing as a way of paying the state’s medical costs for state employees, retirees and legislators, which is projected to save Montana taxpayers $25 million.
